The imagery about fish and Guan Yin takes up space in my subconscious mind. As I grew up in a family with Buddhist and Catholic influences, my understanding of Guan Yin takes on different layers over time, depending on the historical contexts. Here I am viewing Guan Yin more as a representative concept than a religious figure. Does it take faith for one to find meaning in the idea of a thousand fish becoming Guan Yin?
